The newly-crowned Empress of Japan is kidnapped by a strange group of people who are holding her for ransom- with one being enraged at her policies regarding an Ozempic-like drug, and one who wants to write a screenplay about her life. (loosely inspired by David Letterman blackmailer) They take advantage of her insecurities and trauma, intentionally weakening her. Can Pearl find her, or will the Empress gather the strength to save herself? The sequel to The Prince and the Pearl, this time focusing on the turbulent reign of Empress Sadako. I guess, even in the original, I predicted Kamala Harris and Chappell Roan with Sadako. (mocked for her laugh, a queer woman into drag) The Empress's past experience with eating disorders is inspired by my past struggles with dieting and body image. It never got severe, but it's a wound I'd like to stitch shut with writing.
