Velena decides to visit her cousin in spring, to escape her life back home in Mexico. She hopes to be consumed by the picturesque scenery of countryside, have time to sketch, and continue to learn le français. However, there seems to be one problem. Velena has been having perpetual dreams of a young man. All she seems to remember when she awakes are honey brown eyes.
One night, Velena decides to enter the Grandia Hall and comes upon a statue that instantly allures her. Without much thought, Velena places her hand on the sculpture's cheek, and kisses him. When she opens her eyes, she finds herself drowning in pools of honey. The statue, named Salvador, details to Velena that he had been cursed by a woman 25 years ago. She foretold that it would take a quarter of a century for the right woman to come along and ultimately be able to break the curse if he was lucky. Fortunately, Velena has.
Both will have to work together to find the answers they desperately seek. How can Salvador save himself? Why did he come back to life when Velena kissed him? What role does she play in this curse?
Ultimately, both will come face-to-face with ugly truths, broken hearts, and betrayal. Yet, love always finds a way to conquer all, right?
