Just like any other city, the beauty of Chicago lies within the eye of the beholder. Despite the horrors that marked every local news outlet, to the natives, Chicago proved to go beyond the dozens of senseless tragedies.

For Carter Pearce, it was her home. The only place she knew would embrace her when the world around her had failed to keep her out of harm's way. For Dayvon Bennett, however, Chicago was a war zone. Yea these streets had raised him, but they had also stripped him away from nearly everything that gave him a reason to live. For every resident there, the city held a different meaning, but at the heart of the city, one thing remained constant, love.

Whether it be taking a life in the name of a loved one, or struggling to make ends meet to keep those you care about afloat. Regardless of the situation, there was a reason the people who lived here did the things they did, reasons that didn't need to be understood by the rest of the world.

In 'For the Love of Chiraq,' we experience the intertwining of two souls, burdened with the trauma's of their past and uncertain futures. Read as Carter and Von try to make room in their lives for a 'better feeling' as they navigate the harsh city around them.

Only The Family and Parkway Gang have always been bitter enemies. Their feud can be traced back to the late 70's or early 80's, a highly turbulent time in Chicago's gang history. Over the years, losses and attacks on both sides have just made the gang's hatred for each other grow. Leading Only The Family, is Lil Durk. He didn't have to fight for his seat, he earned it. His father, Big Durk, was the best leader OTF ever had. When he was arrested for the murder of Scrappy, the entire gang crashed to a halt. When Big Durk was killed in prison by a member of Parkway Gang, everybody felt that loss. King Von understands exactly what losing a father to gang life feels like. His father, Finessee, was killed outside his mother's home by members of the OTF. Leading PG, Von got his spot by birthright, his grandfather damn near started Parkway Gang. Rumor has it, that it was his grandfather who caused the first case of bloodshed between the two gangs. As children, they were both raised to hate the other side. As they grew, they learned to despise the other side. Now as adults, they want nothing more than to wipe out the other side completely. It was this history, this level of hatred, that caused Von to aim the Glock directly at Durk. With vengeance in his eyes and pain in his heart, his trigger finger tensed. The bullet that rang out had the potential to change both bangs forever. Just, not in the way either gang was thinking. VonDurk BxB

Temptations

75 parts Complete Mature

If there wasn't anything she hated the most it was MEN. Sevyn Moore, 22, was the girl that had a huge hatred towards the other gender. She had her reasons why and she felt as though they were reasonable for a girl like her. Sevyn wasn't the type that fell for the filter men would put on before their true colors were shown. She didn't fall for the same three lines dudes would say to get in her pants nor the same repetitive and disrespectful gestures. She was all for actions, yes, but she knew how to differentiate between forced ones and the ones that came from the heart. Even sometimes the ones from the heart didn't feel real to her, but that was as close as she was going to get to a real man. She knew one day she wanted to get married and live a happy life Mr. Right. But, in a world where disrespecting black women for clout was a new trend, sneaky links existed, and being exclusive was always a problem to people, she preferred being single than dealing with a man-child. Or any man at that matter. But, that was easier said than done. In most cases she was ready to lay down with a man even if he was a walking red flag, but she controlled herself. That was until she met the man himself where the thought of doing bad felt so damn good. She was tempted, but wasn't easy. This is Temptation.
