Cassie Boulden and her younger brother, Chase, have always had a pretty normal life with their caring, loving family...that is, they did up until that fateful day when tragedy struck. Now, with someone they so deeply cherished gone, they take on their lives from a whole new perspective. There is a very fine line between a 'house' and a 'home', and Cassie's not sure if she even knows what a home is anymore. The family was divided. and now the home is as well. It's been four long, hard years, and nothing seems to be getting any better. Relationships are becoming more strained, and Cassie is trying all she can to make life the best she possibly can for Chase. Growing up in a toxic environment, sixteen-year-old Jay Foster has always had psychological problems, coupled with a quick temper. But one night something happens which finally pushes him over the edge, and as a result, he leaves his house the next morning with two things: his mother's gun and a plan.
