The blurry memory of that one night at Steve's, of Barbara Holland being snatched away by a faceless monster remains exactly that --- a made-up story of his intoxicated mind --- until an awfully familiar curly haired runaway shows up at his doorstep, claims to have witnessed a cult murder and asks for a place to stay. Suddenly, Ray isn't sure what's real and what isn't.
