I stabbed a waffle.
"Don't you need a husband for that?" I mocked. "What if I wanted a wife, you ignorant jackass."
"You don't want a wife," Cairo said with confidence.
"How would you know?"
His eyes met mine. He didn't say a word, he just kept staring. I did not back down. Though, he was right. He knew me very well.
"Okay, that's my cue," Aunt Ember coughed awkwardly. "I'll leave you to sort out your differences. Niylah, you may not want a wife, but perhaps Cairo would consider a husband."
