Aru Shah is an eighteen year old college freshman, who is currently trying to pull herself out of a personal tragedy, when disaster strikes their group. They stumble upon the body of a professor in their college, who seems to have been murdered. After finding out he was being threatened, and after Aru is threatened too, the group hurries to find the murderer--and the search needs to be rushed, after they themselves begin getting death threats. But, little does Aru know that searching for the killer will unearth family secrets she'll prefer left hidden in the shadows...
