Wanda Maximoff comes from a line of very powerful witches. Different witches. When in the late 1200s the Maximoff's and the Mikaelson's cross paths.
Wanda, Pietro and the Mikaelson's become fast friends. Wanda and the reckless Mikaelson find something unexpected and soon fall in love. She finds out she is pregnant. No one knows how this is possible because a vampire impregnating someone should be impossible. They will later learn that Esther cursed the the first Mikealson child to find true love to be able to reproduce. Kol didn't want to be a father so he told Wanda to chose him or the pregnancy.
