Freshly reunited together, Jay Halstead and Erin Lindsay are ready to rekindle everything about why they have missed each over over the last several years - from the working relationship, to the great romantic sessions that happened back at the apartment. This is a story about the love together, and how the cases they work - or maybe just a particular case - affects the relationship they share together. This is third installment of "Racing Through Chicago," following "An Unfortunate Mix-Up" and "Murder She Wrote." It is not necessary to read the previous two stories to understand how we got here, but some of the things that happened may be discussed here. This story is also being written on the same timeline as "Chicago Love," as well in the series.

Erin Lindsay and Jay Halstead have been partners for five years now and everyone in the unit can see that Jay has fallen hard for her, except Erin. Jay knew from the moment that he laid eyes on her that she was the one. So, when the opportunity to go undercover presents itself, Jay jumps at the chance and nominates himself and Erin for the task. When things go horribly wrong, Erin will be forced to confront her feelings for her partner, but will it be too late?

When erin and jay move in together, not as a couple, but as friends to help one another out, will things get hard when one of them brings home someone else, or will they realize they were meant to be just friends. The highs and lows, battles, fights, and tears will battle out the laughs, smiles, and love, but let's see whats next for linstead.
