Earth has changed in the years following the construction of great exploration, we sent a ship into space, our first space ship that could travel fast and safely into the deep space beyond where even the light of our sun could reach, it only took them five months to get there and back safely, something no one ever thought was possible.
But instead of finding cures for disease, we found something we didn't expect, life on other planets, this rocked our world to its core, not because the suspicions of life on other planets were finally confirmed but because a lot of the planets inhabitants were far more advanced than we were, they had discovered space travel hundreds of years before we did and our defenses and weapons were far below theirs as well.

As complete panic set in around the world, the rich and important people were all gathered and placed on giant spaceships with enough resources and room to house generations of human beings. Before they left though, the government leaders fired As a result, most of the human population died off and earth was a complete wasteland. The little that survived started building local communities and trying to survive in the destroyed excuse of a planet. On the disaster of a planet, creatures mutated and were born out of the nuclear chemicals; creating new species and monsters that hunted humans. While hundreds and hundreds of years passed, the monsters kept evolving and the people kept adapting while still trying to keep a sort of community. They didn't want to lose all of their humanity and become nothing more than animals that hunted the monsters: then they would truly be no better than the monsters themselves. Countless things have lived and died yet one stands above the rest due to the sheer amount of time it has lived. Almost since the beginning of the universe itself has it existed; a biological monster that would destroy and consume anything in its path. Planets, asteroids, entire stars even; whatever got in this things way wouldn't stay in the way for very long.
