Faint beams of cold silvery light gave birth to one of the most bizarre scenes I had ever witnessed in my life & without a doubt would ever come to witness, the blood freezing in my veins when I saw the intruder's face for what it truly was: a distorted masquerade revealing human features as well as monstrous ones alike, bleeding an expression trapped between blind amusement & rampant wrath; embedded in it a pair of orange-red eyes, glowing like dying embers in the pool of darkness, & where once a careless smile had graced his young face I could now see two large fangs instead of regular human teeth, ready to grab & tear flesh from bone.
It was in that moment that I snapped out of my trance-like state & managed to force myself out of the paralysis that had grabbed hold of my body; my survival instinct took over at last & I jumped up in my bed to back away from the man who turned out to be exactly what I thought he was:
A vampire.
