Have you ever struggled between fate and your destiny?

New Orleans, 1983
"Your Grand Moman told you of the Cadot curse, yet?" With no pause that warm January noon, my Moman Féy spun to face the double thick cypress doors I always shivered by when I passed to the staircase, my feet quickening down a hallway layered with two centuries of varnish and family secrets.

Her fingertips graced the door's always-locked fleur de lys handle before she turned, "Has she said we were named mal voodooienne? And termed me a temptress?"

I swallowed my nod. Grand Moman L had warned me we'd been cursed ever since Mama Sarr landed on these shores in 1619. And that though she'd avoided it, but my Moman Féy had not. She'd added no more. And given her tone, I'd never dared to ask.

Her thumb dusted my shoulder as she went on, "Well, has she spoken at least of the twelve portraits, your Cadot sister ancestresses?"

She swung her hand to the dozen portraits marching above the ruby red staircase up from our second-story parlor.

I dusted them and polished the old oil lamps between them once every month. Moman L said that knowledge of them was for when I was grown. So, I'd always been curious.

"Since Mama Sarr's daughter, Marie," Féy pointed down to the second portrait, "we've been cursed to fate-no boys, just one girl born per generation, and she to be abandoned, on stoop or altar." Her throat choked. "To be barred forever from any choice or destiny."

So even my so-called Moman felt cursed? With her wavy hair and café au lait skin? And she, a famous dancer in Paree as Moman L called it.

Now her fingers pressed into my arm. "But it's not true, Jeanne, all of our Cadot sisters have found a kind of destiny. Paradoxical maybe. You know this word? But we know how to bend cruelty, especially of powerful men."

I close my eyes and start praying. Something I haven't done in a while. "I have faith, there is a god. I have faith, there is a god, I have faith, there is a god." I repeat over and over. "Lilith! You little sneak!" Her sisters laughed as she remained perched on the tree branch. She leaned down, grinning, her brown hair falling like a curtain in front of her beautiful face. Her blue eyes were gleaming with mischief as she stuck her tongue out. "I always win at hide and seek." "Yes, because you're a sneak!" Nesta said, fondly chuckling. She slid off the tree eventually to join her parents and sisters for dinner, laughing, carefree. A few years later, she was hunting and killing, stealthy and quiet as a panther stalking after its victims. Nobody called her a little sneak anymore, nobody but that evil, traitorous voice in her head: and it certainly wasn't spoken with affection. ... Kallias' hands trembled more than he'd like to admit as he held his daughter for the first time: she looked like the perfect mix of her mother and father, only warmer, sweeter, as if to signal the war was over: warmer days had come. She had curly blonde hair, some shades darker than her parents' and blue eyes- the ocean's shade, not the ice's. Vivianne stood behind Kallias, her voice slightly wobbling as she looked at her- their child. "She's beautiful." She whispered, and harshly shallowed, trying not to cry. War was over- war was over, her family was alive, and nothing, absolutely nothing could go wrong anymore. "We will name her Amelia. It means soft in Ancient Greek. And soft she will be." Kallias muttered, running his fingers over his daughter's cheek. ... Two girls: one mortal and one Faerie. Two stories, one ending.

The Devil Walking On Earth is what he is called by the supernatural. Ruthlessness runs through his very soul. Heartless he is. He is unforgiving. His fearlessness is something known to every species that exists. He is capable of wiping out an entire race and no one would utter a word to stop him. He's known for keeping only male guards but this time around he wants females as guards. This decision shocked the entire supernatural race. But most females dared not go to the contest. It was only ten of them. Among the ten females, one particular one caught his eye even though all the females have their potential. She was fierce, strong, calm, and Lethal and he loved the fire in her eyes. It reminds him of himself. ______Disclaimer_______ He watched as she stood in front of him, giving the five men a hard glare which left them shifting from one foot to the other. She never ceases to amaze him. How can a beautiful girl be so cold? He asked himself secretly. "My King wants to have a chat with your master, in peace," she said with the same cold emotionless tone with a dark aura surrounding her. An aura that he has never felt around her in before. "Our King has no business with your asshole of a king," one of the men spat angrily. The next second she was standing close to him with her dagger on his spin. "Don't disrespect my king. I won't mind castrating you before ripping out your particulars. One more word of disrespect thrown at my king and I will make sure I add you to an art collection," she warned, her voice coming out darker than he expected which made a shiver run down his spine as the guard nodded with a fearful expression. "Now, lead the way. Try anything smart and I won't hesitate to slice you up," she muttered motioning for the king to come with them. He followed with the same cold expression. He has never met a woman as strong as her in his entire life and this female has his heart without knowing. She's The King's Guard.

"THE AFTERLIFE CAN BE A REAL BITCH, RIGHT?" "Henri-" I began, but Henri's hand snatched up mine and squeezed tightly enough to break bones. I bit my tongue to hold back a cry. It was a warning. "Maria didn't say anything about a couple of vampires wanting to meet with her," the green-haired warlock spoke after the area had stilled with electrified silence. I looked Henri's way, and that's really when our situation caught up with me. Wait... "Maria..." I murmured in remembrance, then sent Henri a glare. "Why are we here to see Maria Day? If you don't remember, let me remind you that I killed her friend. Hell, her master. She'll kill me when she sees me." Henri had the nerve to laugh softly. "You're already dead, Antoinette." "Thanks to you. There are other ways witches can hurt vampires, aren't there?" My eyes traveled shortly to the warlocks, Daniel and Zachary, and I shook my head. "She'll burn me alive! I'm not going in there." "You're overacting," Henri said with a dramatic eye roll with a worth of a slap across his face. Lucky for him, I kept my hands at my sides. This night was about to get dangerous... This is Book 3 of The Hunters Saga! 1st draft, so there WILL be mistakes! It's beautiful, unlike the ones I have seen here, it's quite unique" "But surrounded by dark mists, you see if you ask me I think it's really dark inside and it's gradually dying" he replied still looking straight lost in his thoughts as the moon rays continued to embrace his face. For a moment they both said nothing. It looked late, everywhere was cloudy and a gigantic moon covered half of the sky. Everywhere looked empty, dry, imaginary. They were both seated on a bench, One was dashingly handsome with nice features but still looked ordinary. Humanly. But the other one was different, with gigantic white wings covering her back, Beautiful? yes, amazingly beautiful, with her long red hair and beautiful long red gown. But possessed a very powerful dark Aura. "Let me save you" She faced him this time, no longer in her thoughts holding his rough hands gently. "Running to a pretty demon for help.... ehhh I'm not sure about that" he replied jokingly as he couldn't help but caress her soft cheeks. "I don't know if you are here to save me or destroy me, but I will trust you" "I'm not sure about that too Alex, but let's give it a try" He nodded then disappeared into thin air. "Trust?" She couldn't help but mumble to herself, as tears could be seen slowly sliding down her cheeks, And her wings gradually changing to its original color, Black. Then he woke up. It was just a dream. #1 spiritual powers 30/08/22.

"It is time for you to find a suitable lady to marry, don't you think?", my mother comments. Our feast has nearley started and I have already had enough. "Not something I occupy myself thinking about.", I comment, not sure if the told lie was for her, or for me. "Stark girl is looking for a husband. Talissa, if I remember correctly. I think she would be a good fit for you.", she persists and I chuckle, "A good fir for me yet you barely know her name." She opens her mouth to speak but I decide to put a stop to this annoying conversation, "A wife is something I do not need nor desire at this moment. If my dearest sister becomes queen my martial status will be the last thing to keep you up at night." My mother looks at me, "That won't happen, I assure you." Helaena touches mothers hand, taking her attention away from me. I tab my middle finger on the wooden table a few times, lifting my eye to find the person that has been, to my discomfort, taking a fraction of my mind lately. She's talking to Damon, a smile painted across her face as she rests her chin on her hand, carefully listening to him talking. It took some time before her eyes swiftly shifted from his face to mine and the realization of me looking made her drop her arm and straighten up in her seat. My attention made her visibly nervous. Few moments later she stood up and, without thinking, my body did the same. I start walking, making sure I don't loose her in the crowd. I am playing a dangerous game but it is something I simply can not seem to resist. ***** When Damon Targen finds an old broken amulet at his deceased grandmothers house, he asks his friend and co-worker Emma for help in finding more about it, but what they discover will lead them down the complicated path of his family tree and history, eventually getting them trapped in a world they know little about ...a world where war is about to break out and every small move you make decides if you will live or die.

[COMPLETED]✔ Book 4 of The Deliverance Series Cormac smirks and replies, "Clever man...writing our worlds while hiding his daughters away." "My dad is my dad, you make absolutely no sense!" I'm quick to snap at him, frustrated by everything he's been claiming as the time he's spent here helping me with school alters his thoughts about me. Cormac chuckles while sighing, "No, nothing around you is what it seems, a clever way to keep you safe until you were ready to-" he cuts himself short as I can hear Edith banging on the door, crying for me. When his eyes glance back to capture my own, he tells me very carefully, "You've read it all...we weren't prepared for him and that's why your parents created all of this to keep you and your sister safe until...now." "I...I need to take my medication," when I go to move away, I feel the air shift around me, Cormac now standing before me. "No, you don't," he observes me with fascination, "there's nothing wrong with you." "But I see and do-" Cormac cuts me off when he gently chuckles, "There's much more you'll come to understand," he glances to the books and then nods, "be careful what you wish for..." "I just want this to all stop," I'm shaking my head profusely, not truly understanding everything he says. It doesn't make sense... ...it's words spun of a fairytale He's calm as I stare at him hard, asking, "What about Edith?" "She will be safe here, that I can assure you as your mother left nothing to chance," Cormac reassures me and at this very moment, everything around me seems to be flickering in and out of existence, especially when we both turn toward the books. "I'm scared," my voice is so weak and hardly above a whisper while Cormac picks up Code of Conduct. Cormac turns to me while holding the book in his hands. As he slowly extends it toward me, he arches a brow and asks, "Are you ready to tempt fate, little sparrow?" (Not Edited)
