The atmosphere was thick, the silence was loud. The two inhaled and exhaled loudly enough for both to hear though neither backed down. He looked up and down at her and noticed the black markings on her hands that traveled brokenly up to her arms and stopping midway.

He shook his head slightly and re-focused. Lifting his riffle up slightly he took a deep breath in. "Surrender. You're surrounded." He knew he was lying and he also knew she had the same idea but it's better than nothing. If anything she seemed even more bothered. She threw her hands up to her hair in frustration then pulled them back down to her side.

"Let me do my job." This time she spoke much more softly than the times before. He shook his head in denial. "You're a villain, why would I?" She chuckled before it turned into laughter. She held her stomach and wiped away a tear. She let out a few grunts of pain though he wasn't sure why.

"So, what? I'm the-" She continued to chuckle more before continuing. "Villain of the story, eh? A little cliché don't you think?" He starred at her. His heart slightly softened though it was only a split second before turning back to stone cold. "Not the first time I heard that."
