***NOTE: This is an alternate branch off of the story Red, White, and Black. You should read up to at least chapter 17 of that story in order to fully understand this story.*** In 2018, The Avengers fought the worst enemy they had ever faced and lost. As a result half of all living things in the entire universe vanished. Those who were left behind struggled to pick up the pieces, struggled with grief and guilt. No one escaped from losing someone but some lost more than others. I lost the men I loved and the family we had started to create. And because of that I ran, leaving behind nearly everyone else I had cared about because I just couldn't handle the constant reminder of what had been taken from me. I gave myself a new purpose Working alone, I did what I could to right the balance that had been thrown askew; because why should so many terrible people have survived when so many good had not. I turned vigilante and that was good enough for me. But it wasn't good enough for someone else, and when he decided to track me down my whole world changed yet again

After the chaos of the media dubbed "Civil War" dies down, Tony is left to pick up the pieces. He's a mess, but he's trying to be better for Peter. He's always going to try to be better, because no matter what life throws at him, he's going to wake up fighting. For Peter, and for himself, because it's high time people realize that he can't be stomped on. Peter is left broken after almost every family member leaves him because of some stupid fight over some documents. He's told he's too young to understand, but he knows better. This wasn't just a disagreement, this had been betrayal. And it hurt, it was as if his heart had been ripped apart, and he wasn't sure if he had all the pieces to put it back together.
