After the death of Augustus Waters, Hazel will never fall in love again. She was broken. Sending Gus' un-used phone texts was the only thing that comforted Hazel and gave her hope that maybe one day, in another life, they'd be together again. But gradually, Hazel stopped sending the texts, stopped visiting Gus' grave, stopped remembering the Augustus Waters she fell in love with.
