Aerin was a girl born with a little too much: an impossible well of chakra, an overwhelming amount of forbidden jutsu, and a heart far too large for a world of shinobi. Unofficially adopted into the Uchiha clan, for selfish purposes, she found more than a name-she found a purpose worth giving her life for. But on the night the moon turned crimson, the boy who once saved her life became the monster who shattered it.

Years later, running from village to village with no end in sight after swearing to herself to never return to the pain of the Leaf, Aerin finds herself left for dead in the outskirts of the very place she had been avoiding. She is discovered by none other than the infamous knuckle-head Naruto Uzumaki-a chance encounter that brings a "ghost" back to the streets of Konoha. Reunited with a grieving Sasuke and a weary Kakashi, Aerin is folded back into the light of Team 7.

But the girl who returned is not the same girl who vanished.

With her memories fractured and a heavy ANBU mask back on her face, Aerin begins to rewrite the fate of the shinobi world. As she navigates the bridge between her bloody past and an uncertain future, one question haunts her: Why did Itachi let her live, and what did he steal from her mind before he left?
