"Does it still hurt that much? Ari said you'll be able to compartmentalize the pain. You know-file the pain under 'Do Not Disturb," she comforted. "Yes, Rosalia, thank you for the neurofeedback. If you'll excuse me, I have work to do," Luca gestured for her to leave as he slowly straightened his hunched spine and freed the desk. "Excuse me"? "You're excused," he said dryly. "Luca, you have a dut-," "No, I fucking don't. Do you see a fucking 'S' on my chest? A fucking cape? Some tights? Witty catchphrase? Anything?!". "Wh- I- what?". "I'm not a fucking superhero. I didn't go save Kaito because of some bullshit noble assignment or cosmic inheritance or whatever pretty package they wanna present this deal as! I saved my friend and that's that. What first starts off as minor, ends up spiraling out of hand once Kailee turns fourteen and only Cara sees that there's something wrong with her. Once she reached the entrance, Kailee wasn't there. After waiting around for a couple of seconds, thirty max, Cara went into the school, automatically seeing Liane coming down the hallway towards her. Once the two girls were a few feet away from each other, Cara said, "Hey, Liane?" Liane looked up. "Is Kailee at her locker or something? Have you seen her?" Six high school students looks like anyone else acts like anyone else but are capable of things no one else is. They learnt from a young age no one that means NO ONE can know about their powers even their parents and other siblings. It brings out the true friends and those who just want to use you. In the end, what do you do when your closest friend betrays you? This is the story as they try to keep their biggest darkest secret of what they are capable of and as they discover they're not the only ones like them... I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else.
