In my au (which will be explained later in the story) is Mk and Kai were separated at the age of three because Maya and Ray found out about Mk's destiny, so they gave him to his adoptive parents in China. Because of Mk's destiny to be the next Monkie King, they knew he didn't have their powers but, his own. Then they had Nya when Kai was 5. So now Mk is 16 and Kai is 19. Mk knew he was adopted but, he got in touch with his birth parents and siblings years later(when he was 13).

At some point, he has an outburst and his fire erupts into colored flames which scares him, he swears that it even hurt him. Red son gets scared of himself and worries about his parents, not wanting to hurt them. So he runs away with as much as he could carry and runs into Mk. After some convincing Red son decides to go with Mk but the longer he stays the more feelings he catches for Mk, and the more risk of putting him in danger. all the art featured is done by me it's slow-burn but it gets there at some point :DComplete
