Everyone begs for the truth. Society has a reputation for sugar coating things. Emmie Harrison always hated lies, but when the doctor diagnosed her dad with cancer, she suddenly wished he had lied. She suddenly understood why so many adults avoided the truth. Once he died, Emmie learned to live through gritted teeth. The lies that she used to hate now comforted her.
Emmie busies herself with her boyfriend, Theo. When that ends, she busies herself with heartbreak. She's telling herself so many lies she can't keep any of them straight. There's problems with Theo and with her best friend Annie. The question is who is she really grieving?
Her best friend, Annie, was always there to comfort her. Through all the hard times, Annie was there. They were the perfect pair. But after years of being friends, Emmie wonders how long she can live the lie of only loving Annie as a friend.
