"You're really pretty, you know?" The words slip from Spencer's lips before she could even stop herself as she stares at Steve who sleeps on the air mattress next to her bed. Steve was surprised. "No one has ever said that to me before." Steve honestly says in the dark. "Really?" And Spencer was truly shocked by this. "I mean - sure everyone says I'm attractive, or good looking or - well, they just never call me anything more sincere. Except you."

Spencer frowns as her eyes shift to the plate she was cleaning to her mother. Her mum was such a sweet person. And yet she has such a horrible daughter. She goes back to the plate, using the towel over her shoulder to now dry it as she wishes she could be better, but the anger she carried was too much - where could she put it down? Down the drain of her kitchen sink? She wishes she could drown it, make the water weigh it down like it does to her. Please, she sighs, just let me be good, let me be a good daughter for my mum.
