Ratchet and Clank are back on Fastoon, about a year after the events in the game "Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack In Time", and are studying the ruins and looking into lombax culture. They soon discover a research laboratory, containing an ancient portal which sends them careening into an alternate parallel dimension - a place where the normal conventions of behavior, morality, etc. are flipped on their heads, and history has played out somewhat differently. Here they encounter characters who are the opposites of what they are in their own universe, and must deal with each as a result. It will be the beginning of an emotional roller coaster ride for the two heroes!

This is the first of what will be a multi-story arc, as Ratchet and Clank stumble through several dimensions while trying to find their way home!

PLEASE NOTE: This story has some violence in it, but no gore.  There is also a tiny amount of body horror as well as a little cursing.  But I hope you'll stay with the story through to the end...I expect you'll be glad you did!

All characters and locations from the Ratchet & Clank franchise mentioned in this story are the sole property of Insomniac Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment, and I assume no ownership of them. Original Story here on Wattpad. No other accounts made. This story is meant to explain events prior to Rift Apart to build up Rivet as a character. This is meant for imagination only as we don't have a fully done back story for Rivet's behavior, and I don't own Rivet as a character, or the world(s) she shares. Those are owned by Insomniac Games.(if you need a writer IG, totally game for that.) Backround we know: unlike her dimensional counterpart: Ratchet, Rivet distrusts robots, and for that matter, most people due to the regime she lives in. That of Emperor Nefarious. Before Rift Apart, Rivet was already hailed a hero in her galaxy, despite never actually having won a fight against the Emperor. Her distrust is a huge and important part of her character we barely scratch in-game due to a good momentum of story with only sprinkles of who she is. Her canon outfit(non-armor) has a scarf to it, despite her living on acid swamp world like Sargasso. Some of this story is told from Rivet's POV, from the POV's of others, as well as just story narration. Things this story is meant to touch on: Rivet's early life before the Resistance. Rivet's reason for eventually joining the Resistance. Why Rivet wears a scarf (not really important, but details are nice..) Her distrust for robots. The loss of her arm. Why she simply refuses to give up. Meeting Pierre Keep in mind, minus her distrust of robots, and the loss of her arm, none of this is canon.

All the Gym Trainers came to form the government, to which K is in charge of, that runs a successful country. However, despite the peace, one has to wonder about their special relics that they keep. Aqua, being the curious scientist she is, borrows all three of their special relics for research, when she accidentally clashes together opening a portal. K and Aqua, soon followed by Rex, find themselves in another world, in Jasper Nevada. Their strange energy signatures signalled the autobots and decepticons, causing them to be targets of M.E.C.H and the Decepticons. But, things go downhill fast when they realize that their relics are actually cybertronian relics, designed to restore Cybertron, along with five more. During a mission, Aqua gets kidnapped by none other than M.E.C.H, while the autobots and her siblings search for her frantically. Will Aqua make it out alive? Will the Decepticons and M.E.C.H obtain the information they wanted? Will Cybertron fully be restored? But most importantly, will K, Aqua and Rex finally be able to go home?
