Adelaide and her twin brother Arrow, are mute. Or well that's what everyone believes. After they barely escaped a group of rogues as children, they are found on the BlackHeart pack territory. The pack believes that they are human but they're so much more. "Addy, did you really believe that you could escape me?" His soothing voice sounds out from behind me as I scale the tree and rest in its branches. My mate stops below my tree and looks up. "Adalaide. This isn't Germany. Come down here and let's talk about what those kids said. Arrow and Katie are waiting for you back in the house." I shake my head in anger. He doesn't get it. And he never will.

I heard the the snow crunching under foot as I ran as fast as my legs would take me through the forest. The air whipped through my hair as I ran, creating a ribbon like flow behind me. I dipped and dodged around trees, careful not to trip or run into anything. Just a little further, I thought to myself. I knew I would be safe as soon as I saw the little cottage at the end of the thick forest. I was so close to my freedom, so close to opening the door. Bam! My body instantly became cold. I squealed as the snow fell into my collar and down my back. I wiggled trying to get it to pass through my coat and drop out the bottom. I turned around with a glare on my face. My father stood facing me with a smug grin. Again, I attempted to stomp into the house when suddenly, my mother jumped out at me out of no where and pelted snowballs at my entire body, I noticed through the chaos my big sister was also helping her. "OKAY! I surrender!" I cried, falling back into the icy blanket with tears of laughter flowing from my eyes. ********* I gasped as I woke from my dream. I looked at the forest around me. Cold, dark and empty. I still had hope that they were just hiding and that this was all just a bad dream, but after a moment or two of listening to the trees creaking, I sighed. I was alone.
