Odessa is highly interested by human life. The way the talk, the fact that they can walk on legs, and by their intelligence. Every night her dreams are taken over by a boy who always tells her, "If you love me, let me go. . ." Odessa never thought much of it until one day she is stolen from the water, from everything she knows and is forced to come face to face with him.
He's trying to keep her from the danger he knows is coming as he hides her in plain sight. In a highschool. Odessa is forced to pretend to be something that she is not, a normal human girl. But soon she finds out she is anything but normal as she realises that she has to stop events from happening and her nightmares from truly coming true.
