It was a leather-bound diary. She dusted it off, sat back in the swing, and opened it.

The pages were yellowed and crinkled, blank at first-until she paused on one. Her eyes widened as words slowly formed.

"Hello Inayat! Let's see who you are, shall we?"

The sentence vanished the moment she read it in her mind. New words appeared.

"I was created hundreds of years ago-and no, I wasn't always like this. Once, I was just a normal diary. Then a sorcerer found me. Changed me. I don't know why. Now, I can tell you everything-from your past to your future. But as your well-wisher, I must warn you: don't ask about your future unless absolutely necessary. Doing so could change everything.
