There's a guy named Thomas Thompson, a bit of a pessimist really, it just all went downhill in 7th grade

He isn't one to be too optimistic about school, or anything really

That's when he discovers what has been fluttering in his heart for quite a while, however pushes it down, fearing for rejection from him, he's gone through it before, and he doesn't want to try again.
