STRANDED. ALONE. HUNGERED The USS Odyssey is lost, cast adrift in the terrifying void of the uncharted expanse millions of light-years from home. For Ensign Manuel Alvarado, a brilliant but unproven operations officer, their desperate search for a way back leads to a miraculous discovery: an ancient, alien archive holding the secrets of the cosmos. But salvation comes with a price. To save his ship and crew, Alvarado makes an impossible choice, sacrificing innocent lives in a horrific violation of Starfleet's most sacred principle. He is hailed as a hero who committed an atrocity, a savior who is damned. Now, haunted by the ghosts of his decision and tormented by a perfect solution he found too late, Alvarado's mind begins to fracture. As he descends into a private hell of guilt and obsession, he must confront a truth more terrifying than any cosmic anomaly: Sometimes, the only thing left to discover is what the mission has cost you.
