1985. Hawkins Indiana. You were such an upgraded person from where you used to be. A better mind. a more controlled storage of thoughts. A solid barrier on emotions. No longer grasping handholds in attempt to hang on to sanity, no longer feeling pairs of eyes on you in badly-hidden caution. No longer laying your fate in their hands. Far from normal is everything around you, unfolding superficial disasters with their horrifying unusual pull. A pull with a direct connection to your mind, that you led yourself to believe you had well under control.
1986.
Maybe upgraded person wasn't the right pair of words. Maybe, there isn't a word for it. Not that you know of.

But he does.
001. Peter Ballard. unusual, at times. slightly unnerving. the epitome of what you believed the definition of secret to be.

       and so,
               very,
                      tempting.

"Your lies feed into lust, prying at every ounce of control I've ever reigned to keep, tearing that
  control cleanly apart."

                ...

"Let every word that falls from your mouth then, be a lie."

I do not claim to own any of these characters! or any song lyrics that I may add. All rights go to Stranger Things, and the Duffer Brothers. The story however, comes completely from my own imagination.

"Look, we're running out of time here and if you don't let go now to grab my hand, we're both going down," he pressed, eyes flickering between yours. "And I don't know about you, but I'd really prefer to stay alive tonight. So for both our sakes, you're going to have to take a leap of faith here." "Okay," you finally said, your voice soft, almost a whisper. He widened his eyes, quickly nodding to show you it was alright, that he'd catch you. "On three?" he asked, not wanting to rush you but knowing he had to if you both were going to make it out alive. You gave him a single nod. He hadn't even made it to two before you let go, firmly grabbing his elbow. Your clammy hands nearly slipped, causing you to yelp, but he quickly seized your hand, his fingers slotting through yours with a secure grip. With a strong pull, he lifted you up, the momentum sending you crashing onto him on the cement, safely away from the edge. The wall cracked and crumbled, falling along with the vine into the boiling liquid below. His arms encircled you, holding you firmly against his chest. "I got you," he murmured, letting his head rest against the hard ground as he looked up at the sky, his hands gently cradling your head. Your face nestled into the crook of his neck as you tried to steady your breathing. "I got you." // You've always lived for the dramatics, always patiently waiting for something, anything to change your life. After the earthquake that nearly tore Hawkins apart, you selfishly thought your moment had finally arrived. You didn't believe in coincidences. Hawkins didn't get earthquakes, and for one to just happen at such a huge magnitude was extremely bizarre. Something more had to be at play, and you were determined to uncover it. You didn't anticipate, however, just how much it would impact your life, or that it would all stem from meeting a certain group of people. *This is a Stranger Things Fiction *Steve Harrington x Female Reader

** COMPLETED FOR NOW ** The existence of another dimension filled with monsters underneath the small town of Hawkins, Indiana, never came close to crossing the mind of Jeanette Bingham. And Jeanette was big fan of anything fantasy related and just anything that seemed out of the this world, but that was one of the last things she'd ever think of. That was until the summer of 1985 when she thought she was just having fun at her summer job scooping ice cream with a couple new friends of hers before discovering that Russian scientists are trying to reopen a door to another dimension called "The Upside Down". Not to mention finding out about a girl with super powers. Now it's the start of spring break of 1986 and Jeanette stuck by the friends she made during the horrors of Starcourt Mall. People are still mentally recovering from the losses, while others are mentally fighting. The group being the only people who knows the truth of what happened, are doing their best to move on and have normal lives. Maybe what Jeanette needs is to fall in love with a DnD playing, rock obsessed, drug dealer named Eddie Munson... But maybe that's the last thing she needs. °•°•°•°•°•° 𝘿𝙄𝙎𝘾𝙇𝘼𝙄𝙈𝙀𝙍: I obviously do not own Stranger Things, all the credit for that goes to The Duffer Brothers and everyone else who worked to make this show happen. But what I do own is this book and any original characters, scenes and ideas that I add. Which means no one has the right (besides The Duffer Brothers) to copy or steal my book as a whole or any of the ideas. And if I find out you have, you be publicly called out, even if you delete your stolen book.
