Russia loves his father. However it's not mutual. He is left without a home after his father finds out his horrible, dirty, secret. He's gay. While a lot of parents would simply brush it off and say "alright. When are you going to wash the dishes you've been ignoring for three days?" USSR is not like them. 
  He absolutely can't stand the fact his son is homosexual. His other children had already left the home (although unbeknownst to him it was actually Russia that made this possible so his siblings could escape his abusive grip) so what's one more?
  He's given a week to get his personal items out of USSR's home before he burns all his belongings and kicks Russia on the streets.  Not knowing where else to go he turns to UN, who has a rather...  unorthodox solution to not only get a roof over Russia's head but also possibly build a healthy relationship with an enemy


Tl;dr: Russia is a gay homeless mess and UN forces America to let Russia live with him

This story takes place in no certain year but they do have modern technology and commodities. This is a MATURE STORY. It has a lot of slow burn until then but the end goal is a mature (NSFW) relationship between Russia and America. Also UN has a lot of power here unlike in reality.
