How the Roy Walton storyline should have gone...
I'm back, Chihards! And I'm back with another multi-fic. This one is much, much longer than my previous one. Now that Season 9 is over, I have a few things I wish had been different, starting with the Roy Walton storyline. Don't get me wrong, the Walton investigation is probably one of my favorite stories this season, maybe because it is revolved around my favorite couple, but there are some things I wish had been different. So here it is...my version of 9a. It is filled with tons of Upstead fluff, Upstead angst, unique character interactions, and of course, tension within the unit. And all this fun starts at the very beginning, exactly how Season 9 began, THE PROPOSAL!

A Family Affair
It had been almost a decade since Jay had first noticed the drastic and sudden change of attitude coming at him from his niece Olivia, and still to this present day Jay is convinced she doesn't like him, which didn't make sense because for the first three years of Olivia's life she would often choose her uncle Jay over her own parents. Fighting Strong
Bethany 'Beth' Halstead, the younger sister of Jay and Will and has a very close relationship with both of their brothers. Beth is known to be the female version of Jay, as both are stubborn but also like to have a laugh. At the age of 18, Beth joined the police academy and became best friends with Adam Ruzek on the first day. At the age of 21 she moved to intelligence after sitting her detective exam. Now that she's in intelligence, she's been partnered with her brother, but Voight is now thinking that was a bad move because of one laughs it sets the other on off. During one shift her and Jay are asked to go over to Firehouse 51 about a recent arson they attended when certain firefighter named Blake Gallo catches her eye. Another Life
Hailey and Jay had been married a month and were settling into that life well. There were still a few bumps they experienced as they grew accustomed to the new change but like most of the bumps they had come across in the past, they got over them without a problem. Accompanied with their two and a half-year-old daughter Macie currently in the midst of the so-called "terrible twos", the two of them have their hands full, especially alongside their demanding jobs and with Jay up for a possible promotion in the near future. It's been a year since Lizzie showed up, Hailey and Vanessa got a new place despite Lizzie saying that she was fine sleeping on the couch. Hailey and Jay were already close during that year but after the Bruce Griffin's case closed, Jay came by Hailey and Vanessa's place bringing dinner more often than before, and after every case the intelligence unit would close Hailey and Jay would always end up doing their "thing" which made their "partnership" grow more and more as the cases close and the days past. On the present day, it was supposed to be a regular day in the office for the intelligence unit of the 21st district, until someone unexpected showed up which leads the intelligence unit to uncover a major twist in the case.Complete
Macie's Story
Macie Vanessa Halstead loves hearing stories, she always has done. Whether it be fairytales or storybooks, her face would light up every time she was sat down to hear one. But there was a certain way her face would change with excitement and anticipation when she was told a real-life one and the six-year-old especially loved hearing ones of before she was born, calling it the real-life fairytale. However one day the girl's curiosity comes back to bite her parents in the ass. She wants to know her story, the same story that Jay and Hailey didn't like to remember back on. They had wanted to tell her but couldn't find a way for the young girl to understand - and it was still difficult for them to talk about themselves, but their adamant daughter was more stubborn than the both of them combined and wasn't letting it go easy.
