Forced to return home to her mother's trailer park in Nevada, Stef Foster, tries hard to make a life for herself and her three children.  Despite the array of challenges that plague her, she tries to come to terms with the effects of her abusive upbringing. 

Unsure if she can overcome her disadvantages, life takes a turn when she runs into her childhood friend and first love, Lena Adams.
