During the battle between Kakashi and Obito in the Kamui dimension, two of their jutsu collide and send them back to 'do it again'
The timeline is messed up. The starting ages are-Kakashi is 6, Obito and Rin are 8 and Minato is 16. Their Shinobi ranks are-Kakashi is a chunin, Obito and Rin are genin, and Minato is a Jounin. In my story
Obito and Rin became genin a month before the real plot takes place. The age difference for Minato and Kakashi are the same as canon and Obito and Rin are aged up by 2 years. This is going to be in 3rd person unless specified and a fair warning-some scenes will be written many times from different PoV's.

(discontinued) In the Shinobi World, a scarce amount of humans believe in the existence of yōkai. Hatake Kakashi is not one of them. However, he isn't exactly the type to bluntly state that they don't exist. After all, a world wherein peace is not a word that can easily be understood is a world with a whole lot more mysteries and therefore, also cannot be understood. During a mission in the Land of Iron, Kakashi, Obito, Rin and Minato find themselves crossing paths with a girl no more than two years younger than the three children. Unexpectedly, the bizarre and cruel weather hasn't killed her yet. It is no surprise that this young girl named Setsuko arrives in The Village Hidden in the Leaves with Team Minato and surprises even the Third Hokage with her long black hair, dark blue eyes, a ghostly white-- almost transparent complexion and a kimono of the same color as snow. Of course, no one really believes that Setsuko could actually be what she could be suspected of being: A Yuki-musume. But in a world where mysteries are meant to be kept, how can anyone say that the ethereal races of the yōkai are non-existent? As Rin, Obito and Kakashi teach her about everything there is to know about living in the village, the silver-haired young boy finds himself intrigued by basically everything relating to Setsuko.
