"Simmons." Billy starts, as if he's purposely trying to get a reaction from Steve. "What'd he say?" is what comes out of his mouth. There's a sharp edge to it, like Billy already knows the answer.

Steve crosses his arms. "What's it to you?"

Billy exhales, blowing out some of the smoke into the air as he laughs. "Choosing the hard way, Harrington? So be it." he sucks the cigarette one last time, then drops it to the floor to stomp it out. "There's a rumor, pretty boy. That Simmons had enough of your shit and kicked you out of the team."

Steve shrugs. "Good thing it's a rumor then, huh?" he deflects.

Unfortunately, Billy doesn't seem convinced. "Oh, that one isn't, Harrington. But there's another part to it that I left out." Steve freezes up. "You can join the team again, but you have to suck up to me, correct?"

In his senior year of high school, Steve is temporarily kicked from the basketball team because of the fights he and Billy Hargrove constantly have. Steve's coach, John Simmons, won't allow him to play unless he becomes the Billy's team member. So, Steve must swallow whatever hatred he has for Billy and begin to build a friendly relationship with him.

However.

What happens when Billy finds out about this condition? Will he take advantage of the upper hand he has over Steve?
