On March 3, 1969 the United States Navy established
an elite school for the top one percent of its pilots.
Its purpose was to teach the lost art or aerial combat
and to insure that the handful of men who graduated
were the best fighter pilots in the world.

They succeeded.

Today, the Navy calls it Fighter Weapons School.

It's the 6th of July, 2005.
Nearly 20 years after Pete "Maverick" Mitchell graduared off Top Gun, he is ordered back to teach a new group of Top Gun absolvents, under them, Rikki "Pyromenia" Matthews.
Their mission is to attack an military base in the ocean, which was built by an underground organization called oak falls which smuggles weapons of all kinds and tries to activate an nuclear weapon.
But what will happen, when Pete falls in love with one of his students?
