Clara never wanted to be a thief. Never wanted to tend to her bedridden father and cook while her brothers went out and learned how to fight for the nearing war brewing between the Summer and Winter kingdoms. And she certainly never meant to steal something someone had smuggled from the Winter Palace, as anyone would. But when her home is invaded and her brothers are kidnapped, she must turn against the law and cross the border to the Winter Kingdom, where the raging cold and soldiers ordered for her head lurk at every corner. The key to fixing what has been broken and ending a twisted war lies in making peace with an enemy who has forbiddenly found a way to her heart.
