Designed to kill and leave behind the Survivors, the ones who must be eliminated. With blood on their hands and a grave history with Saxet, Resistance leader Veronica Blanchard, will stop at nothing to find every last one.
16-year-old Mavis Sterling, naïve and unsure of her place in society, is selected to take part in the tests. With her life on the line, Mavis discovers she will do anything to survive.
After the tests, Mavis flees to the abandoned city that surrounds Saxet. Battling between the loss of her family and the uncontrollable pull to the dark and mysterious R, Mavis' life will never be the same.
As she navigates her new life and what dangers are around every corner, she discovers her hands were not made for playing piano, they were made for throwing knives.

100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages. To minimize the threats, the Colonies have sent their best soldiers to oversee the trial and protect its key subjects. If only things were going according to plan, or better...stay hidden. The government brought scientists to prod at aliens by prodding at humans, they brought security to make sure the humans didn't escape or attack the scientists, and they brought doctors to cure the humans so they could continue testing. Aliza is chosen to be a Beta-Tester along with her younger twin siblings. Beta's are the humans put into cages to be attacked by aliens so the scientists can determine the alien's strengths and weaknesses. Aliza will do anything to save the twins, they're all she has left. She'll do whatever it takes to rescue the twins, escape the underground bunker, and find the last of the human population.Complete
