It's hard to come up when you've been down all your life. The fear. The raw fear is what keeps me down. How do I overcome that fear? Most importantly... How do we overcome that fear? For starters, adding some worth to my name would due... It's Shawn and I'm mute if you haven't noticed.

Everything I went through was worth it. "Don't worry, mommy's coming," I said in a baby voice hoping to comfort him even though he wasn't crying. My heart dropped in my chest when I saw it was empty. No baby in sight. "Gray!," I screamed loudly like I was getting stabbed over and over again. He ran into the nursery, scanning the area for any danger. "He's gone! Our baby's gone!" His eyebrows furrowed as his eyes softened realising what happened. Just as quick as it came, it vanished and he was back with the icy look in his eye. The one he had when we first met. For a moment, I was afraid of him going back to his old self before dismissing that thought and focusing on my missing newborn son. Don't worry, I'm coming for you, my little bubba... Will the angel given to him melt the Alphas ice solid façade or not? Is she helping him escape his darkness or is she dragging him into hers? Read to find out... Cover by @belladz07

*COMPLETED* My head bowed in a heavy mannor, not in respect, but in trepidation. I discern his unwavering gaze over my ill silhouette. "Look at me." I opened my eyes, though it made no difference. Black is still black, all I am left with are my four senses. He will kill me if I don't look. He will kill me if I do. He will look into my sightless eyes and see my futile existence isn't worth living. He will kill me, and he will be doing the pack a justice by it. He growls a low, throaty snarl to warn me about disobeying an alpha. There will be consequences, we both know that. His lingering growls let me know he is not going to allow me to contravene his word. I steadily inch my head upwards, visibly shaking everywhere else. Maybe he won't notice my depthless eyes from across the gazebo. My life depends on it. "You're blind." ~ Monet was born into a particularly prestigious area of her wolf pack, to parents of extremely high standards. Her legacy is to become the packs next healer, but when she was born completely devoid of melanin, all her mated parents saw was a disappointment. Being born an albino wolf pup meant a lot for Monet, but it mostly meant her condition had taken her eyesight along with it. What happens when Monet meets the Alpha of a neighboring pack? Will he accept her for what she is? ~CONTENT WARNING~ This book contains depictions of physical abuse, foul language, and upsetting scenary. He found himself thinking that he would be content to listen to the sound for the rest of his life. "Thank you, beautiful." The Alpha responded quickly, motioning to one of his pack members to pick it up. "You have very good hearing." "Well, I guess it's compensation" She chuckled slightly, "I mean, these don't do me any good." She gestured towards her eyes, turning more towards where the sound of his voice had originated from. {COMPLETED} "now that you've had your fun electrocuting me, would you care to hop in the backseat?" ---------------------------------------------------------- Freak DNA. That's what I like to call it. The fault to my genetic code. More often than not, it's a curse. The static running through my blood gave me a name. A cruel, daunting label of a measly bug. A roach. That's what I am to them, to the government. Roach; the nameless monster with electricity for a sense and lightening as a second nature. It ruined my life, the sparking currents playing tag in my mind, running around and bumping into everything, shaking me loose. The government, actually. They ruined my life. My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise.
