Growing up, Neal had always heard rumors of alternate universes existing from his father who claimed to have lived through them.
Alone, his father presumed dead and mother too absent to care, Neal intends to prove his father right, especially if it means saving the person he loves most of all.

"What do you want?" I mentally roll my eyes. "Can I not talk to my favorite girl?" She smiles walking dangerously close to me. Standing up from my chair I decide to move away from her to put some distance between us. "No you cannot talk to me, not anymore at least." Two people fall in love in unlikely circumstances. They have a lot of psychological issues and mistrusts in the order of things to prevent them from finding themselves and each other. I am a reader of crime novels and hard science fiction almost exclusively, and yet this story, which I have been writing for a long time, is a love story, I can't explain it even to myself. The characters will have to work through hardship and evolve to be able to surrender to the magical things around them and the flow of the universe and the love of other people. This story still is a work in progress, it has holes and it is to be continued

Rory is gay and his Mom has just passed away and soon after the funeral his life is completely upended when he finds out that his Mom contacted the father that he never knew he had. Now, he's forced to live in the desert with a very unusual family he doesn't know, and a father he doesn't want to know. Friends will be made and the meaning of family will be found as Rory discovers that everything isn't so bad in the desert after all.
