Ayuna's back hit the elevator wall without realizing she'd stepped backward.
A chill crawled down her spine, slow and sharp.
He stepped closer. Just inches now. Not touching. Not yet.
Close enough that his presence filled her lungs.
Close enough that she could smell the metallic edge in his cologne again, now unmistakable.
"You just bought yourself..." he continued, voice so soft it felt like it belonged inside her head, "another day."
Ayuna swallowed. "Another day...?"
His mouth curved slightly, like he was about to tell a private joke.
"I mean, it's a shame," he murmured, "I usually don't like wasting time."
The elevator halts.
