Cameron Bishop is in his senior year of high school. But despite his excitement to graduate, he can't help but feel as though his life has no purpose or direction. A self-described "side character," Cameron turns to friends such as Will, Jack, Star, Yanlin, and Blue to learn about new perspectives and stories on life. Through this, Cameron starts to develop his own perspectives.

Jamie is just trying to go through life as easily as he possibly can, but him being gay wasn't entirely helping him at his high school. He used to be happy there, he had a boyfriend, friends, but that all changed in one day. His parents love him and would do anything for him. They support him and he's lucky that he's has them. He just doesn't tell them what's going on at school. But this isn't about that. When he finally opens up about it his parents helped. They moved. Switched schools. Jamie was starting to be happy, but he still had trust issues from previous events. When he's finally accepted what happens when a certain Mr. Parker introduces himself.
