Billy Hargrove has never had it easy - from being abused by his father to being abandoned by his mother - everything that brings him any sense of security eventually leaves him. Maybe that's why when Audrey Monet appears on his doorstep with a basket of homemade goods as a "Welcome to Hawkins" gift, he gets awfully suspicious.
What happens when two people who react to their past traumas in absolutely different ways meet each other?

Now she's stuck on this emotional roller coaster, dealing with her home life with her dad always away on business trips and watching her occasionally trouble maker sister, and then suddenly when one of her sisters friends goes missing, she has to deal with the consequences of it with her expanded family.
