Drawn into a world beyond imagination, she finds herself thrust into the heart of an epic quest alongside the legendary Thorin Oakenshield. As Loreth navigates the perilous expanse of the outside world, she must unravel the secrets of her past while grappling with the enigmatic concept of love amidst the chaos of adventure. In a realm where soulmates are more than mere myth, her journey unveils a destiny entwined with the fate of kingdoms. But as alliances are tested and destinies collide, has Loreth found her soulmate amidst the tumult of the unknown, or is the true meaning of love a quest yet to be fulfilled?

Why has Thorin grown particularly fond of the mermaid?

Is there a reason Thorin is behaving this way? Is she his one?

So many questions and so little time in the quest to reclaim the dwarves' homeland of Erebor.

The time has come. Erebor still lies within the Lonely Mountain, and Smaug has not been sighted for years. The regal line of Durin must reclaim their homeland once more. But, when Gandalf the Grey tasks Ravonna the White, the greatest sorceress of Middle Earth, to join the Company, she faces many great obstacles that she never wished to encounter again. Finding love with Thorin Oakenshield was never her plan, but that was not the only surprise her fate had in store. Darkness had once again found a way to creep into and to corrupt her heart, but will Ravonna be able to banish it? Will she be successful in saving the line of Durin- or will she fail? This is a Fanfiction following the adventures of Thorin Oakenshield in J.R.R. Tolkien's novel, the Hobbit. DISCLAIMERS: 1. I do not own any of the characters besides from Ravonna. Aside from the main storyline, any other scenes or events are my own. All other rights go to J. R. R. Tolkien and Peter Jackson for the original works, the movies and novel of the Hobbit. I also do not own this image, credits go to it's rightful owner. 2. There are TONS of mistakes and plot errors in this book. PLEASE keep in mind that I started and finished this when I was only ELEVEN YEARS OLD. Because this was the first thing I ever wrote, know that this is not a representation of my best work (if you do want to another Thorin fanfic from me, check out Rue, now online). I don't mind criticism, but please be patient and enjoy the story for the substance, not necessarily the accuracy :) Sending much love to all of my fellow Tolkienites and thank you for all of your support so far! I hope you enjoy this story!

WATTYS SHORTLIST 2018 The heart desires the unreachable. A rare creature born of Middle Earth must undo the damage of her predecessor, who helped forge the Dark Lord's Ring of Power. Amidst her mental and physical weaknesses, she is challenged to become a warrior. If not, endless lives will be corrupted and extinguished. What is the key to defeating the shadows that threaten Middle Earth as well as the darkness that intends to smother her soul? Mirkwood is no exception to the kingdoms that are threatened by the Shadow. Instead of sailing to the undying lands, King Thranduil remains, creating a rift between him and Legolas, who stands against his father's pride and what appears to be insensibility. As he journeys with the Fellowship to destroy the Ring of Power, he begins to peel the layers of the mystery surrounding Mirkwood and himself - a mystery that draws him closer to the maiden that travels with them. The earthborn must sacrifice all to fulfill her destiny - desires for a peaceful life, family, fellowship, and love. Will those she journeys with encourage her selfless intentions, or will they challenge her being and all that she desires? Uncover the secrets of Mirkwood, witness the earthborn's battle, and discover the element of the heart. ***I do not own or have any affiliation with J.R.R. [Completed. Words: 54.959. Pre-Hobbit setting] With broken hearts Dís and Thorin have to survive in a remorseless, cruel world. They lost everything. The two of them flee when orcs capture Moria. They end up in a beautiful place, where they are offered shelter unexpectedly. Dís is glad she can give her kids a safe haven, but she can't set aside her crestfallen thoughts, especially not when Thorin leaves her behind to search for their father. Again she falls in love with a man - the only one she trusts, but who doesn't fit into her world in which only misery prevails. Moreover she faces a devilish dilemma: she has to choose between the safety of her own sons and the well-being of the people that cared for her.
