James loves Betty.

He's been certain of that ever since he saw her for the first time. He knows he's in love when she smiles at him, when he holds her under the moonlit sky and when he gives her his cardigan. Betty is perfect for him.

Until, one summer, he meets Augustine and all of his certainties are destroyed. Augustine is nothing like Betty; she's lively, radiant and desperately wants to be loved. James can't help but feel a strong connection to her, even if he's still with Betty.

Once Augustine becomes a hazy, summer memory, James will have to make an important choice that will determine his future with Betty. Nothing is certain anymore, even their hopes have become fragile and delicate.

Will young, teenage love win over a passionate, summer adventure?

***

Based on Taylor's songs "betty", "august" and "cardigan", but it can also be read as a stand-alone romance novel.

Can't wait to read more! [heart]" - carolinegraced "I'm so hooked already" - a_lost_feather "From the summary I had a lot of expectation of a one night stand, one and done type of thing with drama to follow up in later chapters. What I got was something different. The beautiful descriptions of the beach town made me feel warm and cozy and kept me reading until these two characters were introduced. I thought their meeting was innocent and sweet, not what I was expecting. It was really good." - CourtneyPeterman0

"This was just supposed to be summer fun. That was what we agreed on." I tried to talk to him as he was vigorously shaking his head, tearing his gaze away from me. "You were never just a summer fun to me." He stared into my eyes and I felt exposed because I might have developed some feelings for him that I've never wanted to face. Heddy Lopez has just barely graduated and is trying to find the purpose of her life when her friends take her away for the summer before they go on separate ways.
