When Raine Whispers decides to leave their home and run away from a society where everyone is forced to choose only one type of magic to use for the rest of their lives, they wind up in a terrifying situation and stare death in the face. They are rescued by the mysterious Eda Clawthorne, a rebellious, confident, hardworking witch who practices all kinds of magic... And happens to be cursed so that she transforms into a beastly owl when emotionally distressed. Slowly but surely, the pair develop feelings for each other, but the Owl Lady fears that her curse will stop her from being with them. Little does she know, their love will save her life.

At 17 years old Luz decided to run from home she manage to go between realms and ended up on the Boiling Isles. When she decides to stay and help Eda, the most wanted witch on the Boiling Isles, her life turns upside down. She has to deal with various threats, from the deadly environment, and tyrannical government, to her own demons. After a few months, she finally managed to more or less stabilize her life, no matter the outside threats but everything changed as a new foe appeared in her life. How will she deal with the new problem? Will fighting your way through be enough?
