It was rather lucky that Prince Leander of Thetis spotted the vertical smoke finger that led them to a dark, lonely house in the middle of the forest. Adonis the musician injured his arm and would be unable to travel any further by horse. The knight Marcus, looking after the two, was weary from the beginning; but with no other option the choice was made to ask the house's mistress if they could stay for a few weeks--maybe more. It was very lucky that she allowed it, very lucky indeed. Perhaps too lucky. She was very beautiful after all. And what could be better for three young men than a break from responsibility with an enchanting young woman and no soul to tell about it for miles around?

He watched as her eyes skimmed over his dark eyes and black hair with barely a reaction. He felt his pride twinge a bit so he went further. Lifting his hands, he let the blood drip from them. Her eyes widened slightly and her chin rose. She looked at his hands then back at him. His dark eyes gleamed in a challenge. "You've not harmed me or mine, faery." She spoke out loud. "Blood does not scare me and neither do you. Keep your dog on its leash." Then she turned and calmly walked back inside. Intrigued now, he went to the window of the house and watched as she reassured her mother that the dog was gone "I'll see you tonight, reckless child." He promised softly. **** Marcus felt himself beginning to wake and struggled to stay in the dream. But it was no use. His eyes opened and he released the pillow his hand was gripping. It was the same one that she had laid her head on every night. His head went into the pillow heavily for a moment, breathing in her faint scent. He hated and treasured dreams like that with equal fervor. He rolled over on his back and stared at the ceiling. It had been decades since she'd been forced to break that promise. He lifted his hand and touched the ring that had been her last gift. It had been decades, but it was yesterday. ***I did not skimp on the steamy scenes so consider yourselves warned ok? There are also a few violent scenes that I'll try to remember to put a warning before so you'll have a heads up. Any of the pictures/artwork were found online so I reserve no rights to those just the story. But I do reserve all rights to the story. This story runs concurrently with "Bloody Desire" and "All Roads Lead to Rome" Awesome new book cover is courtesy of @ScarlettOlivier. She's awesome. Check her stuff out.

Tyrus of Kenatos has made it his life's work to banish the plagues that ravage the kingdoms. He believes the answer to ending the devastation lies in the Scourgelands. Yet, Tyrus's first expedition into the cursed woods failed after being defeated by mysterious minions who stalked and killed most of his band. Now a prisoner in his own tower, Tyrus has summoned his nephew Annon-a Druidecht possessing innate magic called the fireblood-on the guise of finding a hidden treasure with which to purchase his twin sister Hettie's freedom. But in reality, Tyrus is using his niece and nephew, and their magic, as an opportunity to escape and resume his desperate mission. And to aid them, he has enlisted the warrior-monk Paedrin-who is almost as green as the siblings when it comes to traveling these troubled lands. The trio is determined, and along the way they grow to trust each other-and new additions to the group-in order to accomplish their missions...whether or not those missions are one and the same. But the Arch-Rike-ruthless ruler of Kenatos-has learned of these plans, and has sent the fearsome Kishion to destroy all those that oppose him. Now Tyrus and his unwitting allies must face down not only the plague, but this new enemy-and fulfill their quest before a fresh horror is unleashed on the world... https://www.amazon.com/Fireblood-Whispers-Mirrowen-Book-1-ebook/dp/B008LWDHKO This novel is not mine nor translated by me. Niccola is a demi-queen undercover in enemy territory. Her little sister went missing seven moons ago, but one lead remains: a picture of a woman's face, drawn by a diviner shortly after the disappearance. Tracking her down has led Niccola to Calis, the realm next door whose border with her own remains closed for a reason. There, the trail goes cold. Until, that is, Niccola runs into a man in the marketplace who bears a family resemblance to the woman she seeks. His name is Isaiah, crown prince of Calis, and he's investigating disappearances, too. They join forces, faking courtship to sneak Niccola into the palace and get Isaiah's wedding-minded mother off his back. It doesn't take long to suspect that a common threat might underpin both their realms' problems. And as Niccola begins to develop real feelings for Isaiah, she's faced with an impossible choice: reveal her secrets and risk breaking his trust, or leave him in order to chase down the woman who stole her sister... a woman whose forbidden magic comes with a cost that could bring both realms to ruin. ❖❖❖ Complete and fully edited.
