Lol ao3 was down so I decided to upload it here.
A reimagining of Outer Banks if magic and monsters existed. Mostly magic.
Most of S1 is canon in this fic. Meaning you already know basically what happens. But I intertwined a lot of the lore and stuff that I wrote into the actual show so even though you already know kind of what's gonna happen, as much as I hate saying you have to read to understand, you kinda have to read to get the premise of the magic rules and stuff that I step up for it all to make sense.
This is also vaguely a JJ fic focusing on his character arc and growth. Very very slow burn with JJ/Pope as endgame. I will also be focusing on the main plot as well since the gold itself plays a massive part in this fic.

The Pogues have known magic existed since junior high due to them ganging up on JJ to follow one of, at the time, new founding principles of being a Pogue- "Pogues don't have secrets."

It was the gold, the treasure that kept John B's father from coming back. He knew it. As much as he hated to know, it bore itself deep inside his head. His father had gone missing because of it. And he wasn't going to take anyone's word to heart that he had gone off and died somewhere looking for it. Because that's just not what happened.

Then she meets the pogues and has a soft spot for them, well some of them, And that is very unusual for Brooklyn, except one of the pogues is kiara Carrera who is Sarah and Brooklyn's worse enemy. it's a no brainer
takes place after the events of season 1 (edit: I wrote this way before season 2 or 3 came out so yuh) It's been a month since John B and Sarah have been pronounced dead. No bodies were found which gives them the smallest sliver of hope. But hope of what? That their friends somehow survived that deadly storm? That their bodies are still floating around somewhere in the Pacific? There is no hope anymore. John B, their best friend, is dead. There's nothing more to it. He's dead and so is Sarah. Coming to terms with this has been one of the hardest and single most heartbreaking thing any of the pogues have had to deal with.
