Lol ao3 was down so I decided to upload it here.
A reimagining of Outer Banks if magic and monsters existed. Mostly magic.
Most of S1 is canon in this fic. Meaning you already know basically what happens. But I intertwined a lot of the lore and stuff that I wrote into the actual show so even though you already know kind of what's gonna happen, as much as I hate saying you have to read to understand, you kinda have to read to get the premise of the magic rules and stuff that I step up for it all to make sense.
This is also vaguely a JJ fic focusing on his character arc and growth. Very very slow burn with JJ/Pope as endgame. I will also be focusing on the main plot as well since the gold itself plays a massive part in this fic.

The Pogues have known magic existed since junior high due to them ganging up on JJ to follow one of, at the time, new founding principles of being a Pogue- "Pogues don't have secrets."

JJ made it down to the bottom of the stairs and was reaching for the door with the passageway in it. The floor board made a creaking sound and Rafe started to turn his head, but before he could turn it all the way, I pulled his head back to face me. We made eye contact for a moment and then I kissed him with urgency, hoping he didn't see JJ at all. Unfortunately for me, JJ saw me kissing Rafe. He mocked Rafe and I, making kissing faces and rubbing his own shoulders with his arms crossing, causing me to laugh mid kiss, then he shut the door slyly. - "Sometimes it only takes one person to bring out the beauty in someone evil." -Unknown - COMPLETED: March 8th 2023 (My first book btw :))) This is an ff based on Outer Banks and the shows characters. This story could have many beginnings, it could start in 3rd grade, with the start of a friendship that's more like brothers than anything else, it could start with the death of a mother and the rejection of a father. It could start with the wrongful death of a slave, or the attempted murder of a treasure hunter. But I'm not going to start this story with any of those. The beginning that I'm choosing starts with a kook year, the falling out of a friendship, a girl stuck between two sides of an island, a late night party, a missing father, and a fight on the beach. That's where this story is going to begin. ....................................................................................... So I'm really interested in what the obx characters lives were like before the show. Especially JJ and Kiara's. And I feel like the idea of Kie having a kook year is something that could be really interesting, but the writers just never really explained it.
