THIS BOOK IS PART OF A SERIES. THIS IS THE THIRD BOOK IN ZOLA's STORY.
Make sure to read "In Their Hands", followed by "Control" before reading this story!!

Zola returns with her mom after a fight regarding the mischief behind both HYDRA & SHIELD. When they think the conflict has settled, another arises.
The Avengers split between the choice of working under supervision, vs. working without it. Her mother takes one side, and her father chooses the other.
Now, Zola's old enough to make her own decisions, even though her choice still causes conflict with her parents. She can choose to stay alongside her mother, or, she can choose to fight beside her birth father, Bucky Barnes, AND the only father she has ever known, Clint Barton. Still, Zola is not aware of her relation to Bucky. But she is starting to sense that there's something her parents are hiding. She is slowly putting the pieces together and understanding who Bucky is.
Through conflict, confusion, and difficulty, Zola tries to maintain relationships that have lasted throughout her life. She watches the love that she has grown up with begin to crumble and decay. She tries to revive these things that are most important to her. However, as she grows older in this country that seems so foreign, she better understands the emphasis of "Nothing Gold Can Stay."
And when she keeps a promise she has made, and goes with her mother to destroy their demons of the red room, she finds out about a deeper meaning of family that has never had.

TAKES PLACE DURING "CACW" AND "BLACK WIDOW".

Zola Barnes, daughter of Natasha Romanoff, and the adoptive daughter of Clint Barton is raised in the red room for the first few years of her life. She grew up to the feeling of the Winter Soldier's metal fist punishing her for every mistake she made. She was thirteen-year-old Natalia's liability in the red room, but she was Clint Barton's world once he took the two of them in instead of pursuing his mission to kill them. Their lives change as they work for SHIELD alongside Clint, run from their old captors with his help, and hide in hotels and safe houses. Though Zola can hardly speak English or understand what is happening to her, she builds relationships with her mother, whom she used to be denied of seeing. She gets closer to Clint, who she genuinely believed was her father. She didn't know any better. Thankfully, she was happy to lose the one relationship she never asked for. She'd longed for a father figure, but the relationships she had with everyone in the Red Room, especially the Winter soldier, were not that. As unfortunate as it was for Bucky, who wanted nothing more than to be a part of his daughter's life, he was forced to watch her grow up in someone else's care from a distance. They wiped him so often, he would hardly remember her, anyway. Still, in the small moments where he could remember, he hoped that one day he would win her trust back as Bucky, not the Winter Soldier that she knew. BOOK ONE IN ZOLA BARNES SERIES.

She was an innocent woman when they took her. He was her only friend when they had her. She didn't understand why they took her. Now she is free and wants revenge. She wants to free him and kill those who have done harm to her and him. She wants to prove to them that she could save the world. Who can help her? Only the Avengers and apparently, her brother. Elizabeth Marie Rogers is the sister of Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America. She was taken by Hydra right after Steve went in the ice. She doesn't remember any of this. Now that she is free, her memory starts to return. She remembers Steve, being taken by Hydra, she even remembers the love of her life and his funeral. She realizes that the Winter Soldier is Bucky, the love of her life. She has to save him, I mean she does owe him her life. She turns to the last people she wants to, the Avengers. The Avengers don't know if they should help her, since they just finished Ultron and since she is a highly-trained, world-known, Grade A assassian. Steve begs them to help. They agree but don't trust her. They save Bucky and see who he was and who she was. They then ask them to join the Avengers. Bucky declines the offer, wanting to live a normal life, but Elizabeth doesn't know if she should join her her brother, fighting evil with her unnatural powers, or stay with Bucky, living a sort of normal life. Who will she choose? She loves them both and doesn't want to leave them. She can't decide, but with this Civil War, she won't have to. Tony doesn't want to work with her, but Steve still wants her help. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This book takes place after Age of Ultron and goes into Civil War. I don't own the Avengers or the movies. I don't run Marvel. I only own this book. This has Supernatural characters Dean and Sam and Castiel. This is just a Fan-Fiction. This book contains strong language. If you are not comfortable with this type of language, do not read. I hope you enjoy the book.
