Axel is just a typical non- socialize student. She always been, it was her characteristic ways.
Books were something more fun to hanged around with than people.
Anime was her life rather than her popularity. Manga is something beyond reach of her mind.
She won't come out from her imagination just for a needed attention from her. Axel was young, but she was bright student in hiding. It didn't take much effort for her to look like a loner.
Just one day, she was sent to place she wouldn't ever think of.

P.S this is kinda the sad ish book. Betrayal and the character could think negative at many times.
