Sometimes, we can escape our fate.

But most people never will.

Nyx was a villian. Her father, her mother, and her older brothers had all been criminals before her. Their family was chained to a powerful man and a life of thievery. When the Young Justice team came to stop her, when they infiltrated her school, when they touched her world, the ripples that passed through her life would change her forever.
She wanted to be good. She wanted to use her powers for the right reasons. The heroes believed in her, put their trust in her, and she didn't want to let them down. Let Kaldur'ahm down.
But fate just wouldn't let her go.

"Don't do this, Nyx. You don't have to do this," Kaldur warned, his eyes flicking to the dozens of objects raised around her. Screams of terror rose up from the students around them.

"I'm sorry," Nyx rasped, "but I do."

Five Star Reviews for Atlantis Academy: "Omg this book was amazing I couldn't put it down or stop reading. I carried it with me open on my phone while I did everything just to keep reading. I need more of all of this. Epic story, epic content, epic visuals, just epic. LOVE THIS!" "Once I got into this story, I did not stop reading it. This is a beautiful story about a very awkward girl who is riven with so much pain and angst and yet... this makes her who she is and shapes her into the person she will become. The world she finds herself awakened to is magical and yet filled with the all-too-familiar cliques and tribes of the very human people who inhabit it. One word to describe the story: beautiful!" "The story pulls you headlong to the end and leaves you wanting to shout "No! Not yet!" ...If there were 6 stars, I would have given it that." *** Humanity is one secret society away from extinction. The children of Atlantis use magic to keep us safe. If they make it through the Academy. Hi, I'm Lyric. And I'm kind of a mess. ADHD, that's me. I'm a high school drop-out, late everywhere I go, and one screw-up away from being homeless. I'm a loner, and I like it that way. Who needs friends when you have a Redwood forest nearby? Trees never bully me like the kids did at school. Or get drunk and throw things at my head. After my mom died, I figured life couldn't get much worse. I thought it might even get better. Ha. The universe has a great sense of humor. I should've listened to the rumors about evil spirits. About the angry, ancient magical creatures haunting our small Oregon Coast town. But did I? No. That was my first mistake. And it might be my last. 'Cause now I'm in a battle for my life. A whole new world has opened up... a magical world I don't understand. And the blood in my veins says I belong here. But I have to prove myself to save myself. And when have I ever done that?

Very gently- her soft lips brush against mine. My eyes flutter closed and I lean back in, smiling. "Nyx, I swear to god, you are going to kill me one day" "What do you mean...?" "Forget it, you already have." ★★★★★ Nyx doesn't want the life she was given at birth. She's a fighter, not a pretty little object that needs saving. Kiran should have never been taken. He's never been a fighter, he acted more like a prince than a knight. When Nyx Maskousky was taken as a young child, she was raised as a thief, but more importantly, as a fighter. But there's a catch: she has to dress like a man, or she's immediately thrown in a cell to rot, where every fragment of her freedom will be gone- ruined. Kiran Taner was taken, along with three other children at eleven, and like everyone else, was raised as a thief. But just as the universe had seemed to want, he's never been strong enough, and has to spend long hours every evening with a woman he can't hide feelings from- Nyx Maskousky. But with a horrible twist of fate, Nyx and Kiran was caught- however not by the exterminators, but by the Trial judges- who put both of them together in the them. However, if they find out that Nyx isn't a man- her whole life will be torn apart, and she will be locked up, or worse, killed. And the trials will easily be Kiran's end, for how strong everyone else is, yet how weak he was. And with a terrible level of self control, Kiran needs to keep his feelings from Nyx for as long as he can. Or that could be his downfall. -undergoing minor editing- In Book One of the NLTG series, Regina Hayden stumbles her way into Bruce Wayne's car and a new life as his protege, Jet Starling. However, after an incident at a LexCorp warehouse, Jet Starling is transformed into Pyrrha, member of the Light and enemy of the Justice League and the Team. In her first months as Pyrrha, she battles with her ever-mounting rage over Batman's betrayal, the Light who is constantly pushing her to her ethical limits, and her growing attraction to the sociopathic Lex Luthor. Surrounded by lies, Pyrrha finds herself needing to find who she truly is inside. Homicidal-prone villain or used and confused hero? --- "I don't believe you! I don't believe any of this! They wouldn't do this to me! They wouldn't abandon me!" I stumbled to the bed to hold on to something, anything. In the tussle with the two brutes, equipment was strewn throughout the room, including a metallic bed pan. In the vague reflective surface, I saw two red lights staring back at me. Frantically, I scavenged the room for a mirror but only found a glass cupboard door and saw my face clearly. No. Not my face. Her face. It was my features but none of my color. The skin was smooth. Too smooth and white. Colorless, in fact. Except for when my veins began pumping brighter and brighter the more panicked I became. My once grey eyes were now a burning red. My short hair, long. This wasn't my reflection. This was a monster. A demon. I fell to my knees and held my face in my hands as fire began erratically bursting from my skin, only terrifying me more. I felt a hand gently pull my hand from my face and held it tight. I looked up to see Luthor, the surprise calming my sporadic flames. His face was genuinely sad even as he winced from my heat. "Darling, don't fall apart," he whispered. "What am I?" I pleaded, still on the brink of tears. "A god among men." --- Spotify playlist link in profile

Lina Dubois. Your typical 16, year old teenage French girl: shy, quiet, socially awkward, a little on the clumsy side. Except there is one thing that's a little abnormal. She's an air-manipulating superhero. Completed Disclaimer: Young Justice, it's locations, and it's characters all belong to DC comics. The only character I own is Lina and her family.
