"You're also arrogant, impulsive and in some ways frighteningly wonderful. In other ways," he whispered across her skin, "you're also the most lovely woman I've ever known." His mouth moved over the skin he had just touched, and Amanda felt him kiss the sensitive spot once more, and she closed her eyes and reveled in the sensation. "You have a way with words, Alastor," she mused, "if anyone heard us right now, they'd think I've cast a spell over you." "I do indeed feel somewhat enthralled." She laughed, a bit louder than she had intended, but he didn't seem to mind. "Then I must be a terrible enchantress. I make promises I can't keep. I say things I don't mean." "That's why I love you," he murmured, and she could feel his teeth against her throat. "It suits you." "Oh, Alastor," she breathed, and, reaching up, she tugged down on his hair. "Dear me, you're very distracting," he said, releasing her neck. "I don't think I can stay sane around you." "I wouldn't want you to."

Feeling the fear coursing through his body, Alastor began to back up from her, getting ready to retreat into the shadows. Before he could, her eyes began to glow as a soft melody built in her throat. As soon as it hits his ears, he can feel his nerves beginning to fry. Typically, her siren call had no effect on him, but with all the emotional turmoil he had been through, his resolve was weakening with more ease than it ever had before. She stalked him like the prey he was - a perfect sailor in her hold. ~ Third Installment to the 'Siren' Series (A Siren's Spell & A Siren's Hunt). PLEASE READ THOSE FIRST, AS THIS WON'T MAKE SENSE.
