The couple attempts to set a good example for their kohai, both in volleyball and in their personal life.
Dachi never expected Yamaguchi to have a crush on the tall middle blocker Tskukishima, who also happens to be his childhood friend. When the freckled underclsssmen sees him and Sugawara it's clear the situation is impossible to interpret any other way and he comes clean about the two of them dating only to have the shy boy confess "I'm the same!"
Sugawaras instincts tell him Kagayama and Hinata might be struggling with more than just their studies. He's been dropping hints to Coach Ukai trying to get him to address the tension but realizes he'll have to step up instead.
